On the high seas at last. Day1

Boarding process was very efficient but then this is a small ship with only ~680 passengers – a guess – total age is about 50,000 years! Remarkably it turns out that there are a number of young people on the cruise and even a young child but definitely a diiferent crowd than we are used to. Also was surprised to learn that there are many, and I mean many people who have done a world cruise on Princess many times. Remarkable I thought it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience but for some it’s a way of life

Cabin is lovely – quite spacious with great storage and a nice sized balcony

luggage arrived – in dribs and drabs leading to some concern – it was my rollaway that was the last to arrive with the all-important DVD holder. As you can see (below) the first thing to be given attention by me was the computer!! Have to get used to the fact that I don’t get 150 e-mails a day any more.

We did bring a lot of stuff – I brought the clothes, Merle the beads. Interesting turn of events. I will not hear the end of this issue. It all now has a place somewhere – maybe not the final landing, but at least a place.
Lifeboat drill, then up to the deck for the champagne farewell and the beautiful departure from Fort Lauderdale with a full moon. Wasn’t up for formal dinner so did the buffet, sitting outside on the deck aft on the ship and here we are, back in the cabin at 7.30pm.
